La fiesta barroca. El Reino de Valencia (1599-1802)

Resumen del Libro

Hubo un tiempo que, coincidiendo con el apogeo de las monarquías absolutas y el auge del catolicismo, algunas ciudades fueron escenarios de impresionantes festejos públicos, políticos y religiosos, en los cuales intervinieron numerosos artistas que diseñaron las máquinas, las escenografías y las decoraciones que los acogieron. Esta monografía recoge las imágenes conservadas de la fiesta barroca al Reino de Valencia, desde 1599 hasta 1802, fechas que coinciden con sendas visitas de la familia real española a la capital del reino valenciano. Esta obra forma parte del proyecto Triunfos barrocos, que pretende recopilar y estudiar todas las imágenes festivas barrocas de los reinos de la monarquía hispánica, y que ya prepara los siguientes volúmenes.
