Este libro pretende historiografiar los textos de una tradición en la literatura hispánica que constituyen eslabones de la misma cadena: la defensa de la mujer como concepto intelectual y literario. Partimos en este estudio de textos medievales, sobre todo de la primera mitad del siglo XV, y acabamos con documentos del siglo XVII que anteceden directamente las vindicaciones del siglo xviii que se convertirán en la base del pensamiento ilustrado con respecto a la temática genérica y sexual.
