Archeologist Isaac Cohen has no idea that he will set in motion possible armagedon-like conditions when he discovers, in a library hidden away in a Tuareg city, a mysterious and omnious fifteenth-century manuscript written by a Jew from the Spanish city of Toledo, who had to flee from there during a horrible three-day religious uprising in 1467 known as "The Magdalena Fires."
