La consulta de diccionarios o glosarios del pasado constituye una práctica usual en el estudio histórico del léxico hispanoamericano. Frente a esta situación, el objetivo de este volumen es plantear la necesidad de una evaluación profunda de estas fuentes, no solo desde una perspectiva lingüística y metalexicográfica, sino también tomando en cuenta elementos históricos y socioculturales.
