El texto recoge, a lo largo de quince temas, y atendiendo a un criterio cronológico y temático, los acontecimientos políticos, socio.económicos, religiosos-culturales y las relaciones internacionales que jalonan la Baja Edad Moderna en España, desde 1665, año en que se produce el fin del reinado de felipe IV, hasta 1808, con la caída del Antiguo Régimen.

A fines de abril de 2006 remueve al acontecer político y social el movimiento de estudiantes secundarios. Uno de los hechos importantes ocurridos al iniciar el siglo, recogido aquí en cinco miradas, que alimentan la memoria y alientan el debate.
