La cultura quechua ha sobrevivido hasta hoy a pesar de la presión ejercida por las culturas occidentales a su llegada al continente americano. El autor, tras un exhaustivo estudio y recopilación de diversas fuentes, nos presenta y analiza una cuidada selección de los poemas más representativos de cada una de las formas poéticas (harawai, wayno, qachwa, ayra y haylli), con sus respectivas traducciones al castellano.
