The remarkably prolific career of an innovative young Chilean architect is profiled in this engaging study. Born in 1965 and in professional practice since 1991, this architect's impact on his native landscape is observed mainly in a series of private houses located in some of the most sublime sites in Chile. This volume features 25 architectural works constructed in Chile by architect Valdés between 1963 and 2007. It also comprises a series of texts that the author gathered after several conversations with the architect from 2001 to 2006, in a first-hand account of the creative process established by the architect about design, material, construction and space.

The present research work is based on original manuscripts and testimonies from architect González Gortázar (b. Mexico) regarding his transcendent architecture and urban designs. González Gortázar is considered at present one of the most important architects of México, creator of spaces and urban art that are now geometric symbols and references of the city of Guadalajara in México. The architect strongly practices the concept of "Space and Art" and where the city should never loose their social function for which it was originally conceived and constructed.
