La dictadura de Primo de Rivera en Almería (1923-1930). Entre el continuismo y la modernización

Las relaciones que se establecieron entre las comunidades indígenas de la Guajira (Colombia y Venezuela) con las sociedades y autoridades de las provincias de Riohacha y Maracaibo, en el período 1750-1850, respondieron a intereses que cada una tuvo en determinadas circunstancias. En Riohacha estuvieron mediadas por una larga trayectoria de contactos, negociaciones y enfrentamientos que se iniciaron desde mediados del siglo XVI; en la provincia de Maracaibo tal proceso no parece darse sino hasta bien entrada la segunda mitad del siglo XIX.

This study offers a profound study of Arrufat's play, using most recent critical trends concerning the performance aspect of the drama. It examines the genre of the drama and its relationship to the phenomenon of the Cuban Revolution, Arrufat as a Cuban playwright of the 60s and his re-writing of the Greek theme of the fratricidal fight in Aeschylus' Seven Against Thebes. Also contains a recent interview with Arrufat in which he describes the social circumstances surrounding the play and some of his classical re-writing techniques.
