This book is the basis of an Italian-Argentinian film of the same name that premiered in Italy in December 2015 and in 2016 in the rest of the world. The film tells two moments in the life of the pontiff. One is during the Argentinian military dictatorship of 1976 and the other as cardinal who becomes Pope. It is a fictionalized version of his story.
