Anthological exhibition of Cuban photography, fifty artists and one hundred images allow an extensive tour of the development of photography in Cuba since its arrival on the island in 1840 to the present. With this exhibition, curated by the specialist Rafael Acosta de Arriba, the exhibition of Cuban photography returns to the Museum's halls. Desde la perspectiva de la antropología social, y mediante el estudio de la obra de una selección de artistas actuales, la publicación analiza las imágenes del hombre y la mujer generadas en Andalucía durante las tres últimas décadas a través de la pintura, el vídeo y el arte de acción. Partiendo de una retrospectiva del arte plástico y visual andaluz desde el inicio del siglo XX hasta los años ochenta, este trabajo estimula la reflexión sobre qué expresiones de la masculinidad o la feminidad se transmiten actualmente a través del arte.

"Female nude photography implies great freedom. A woman offers a shape which is 'naturally aesthetic' and contains a 'balanced sensuality.' I find myself utterly astonished by the complexity of the feminine universe and beauty of the opposite sex. This series of images is very different from my other photographic work. Working only with natural light approached the sensuality and individuality of the women like an outsider licensed to explore their feminine universe." Combined with 'Masculine Reflections, ' this book is the "feminine" half of a landmark two-volume set.
