(Re)descubriendo 'América'

Resumen del Libro

Libro (Re)descubriendo 'América'

This collection of essays in English and in Spanish explores the travels of a genre and related issues of artistic, national, and transnational identities. In recent decades road movies have reemerged. This volume is interested in the genre's expansion in the Americas with a particular focus on new and alternative road movies that have come out of Mexico, the United States, and Canada. These essays rediscover "America" through a transnational, inter-American lens. The contributors trace the filmic origins of road movies to the U.S. and Hollywood, but emphasize the importance of revisiting the genre within a North-South perspective and explore how the genre has changed through the cultural flows of globalization.

Libro The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri: Volume 2: Purgatorio

The second volume of Oxford's new Divine Comedy presents the Italian text of the Purgatorio and, on facing pages, a new prose translation. Continuing the story of the poet's journey through the medieval Other World under the guidance of the Roman poet Virgil, the Purgatorio culminates in the regaining of the Garden of Eden and the reunion there with the poet's long-lost love Beatrice.
