After surviving the mysterious disease that is killing the majority of the America's children, 10-year-old Ruby realizes she has changed. Her frightened parents call the police and she is sent to the brutal government rehabilitation camp named Thurmond. Six years later, she is on the run. She joins other children like herself who have escaped the camp. She can't risk trusting anything or anybody since people will stop at nothing to try and use her powers.
