The history of the political repression and socioeconomic exploitation of hundreds of thousands of people in the forced labor camps of the UMAPs and those less well known confinement áreas that came before and after, (of pure Stalinist inspiration) within the Cuba of the Castro brothers, has barely begun to come to light, and although some interested observers want to view these events as "old history" or merely overcome by historical transformation, the horror of this experience does not end.
