How You Look at it

This is an anthropological essay that studies social dynamics of Mexicos city from the perspective of its inhabitants. An analysis about the relationship of their everyday life with the history of the city is made from questionnaires and the exhibitions of images to a group of people- taxi drivers, traffic cops, deliverymen of goods, students, housewives, street sellers and middle class motorists.

La actual publicación recoge los textos seleccionados del VIII Encuentro en Castilla-La Mancha, dedicado a fotografía y turismo. Están distribuidos en las siguientes secciones: turismo, documentación fotográfica y fotógrafos.

Nos encontramos inmersos en una era en la que imágenes de todo tipo nos rodean y emiten mensajes diversos que no siempre somos capaces de comprender. Ante esta situación se hace necesario retomar el control, desarrollar aptitudes para leer, analizar y crear imágenes. La comunicación visual engloba disciplinas relacionadas con la capacidad comunicativa de las imágenes, cuya relevancia es cada vez mayor frente a la comunicación escrita. La Mirada (the gaze) presents nine outside their country almost unknown Latin American artist-photographers. The works of the last 20 years range from straight photography to the staged image. This title describes not only gaze of the camera directed towards a specific subject, but also the artistic attitude and mental approach of the nine artists and their diverse views on photography.
