How You Look at it

This is an anthropological essay that studies social dynamics of Mexicos city from the perspective of its inhabitants. An analysis about the relationship of their everyday life with the history of the city is made from questionnaires and the exhibitions of images to a group of people- taxi drivers, traffic cops, deliverymen of goods, students, housewives, street sellers and middle class motorists.

RASTRO es un libro de fotografía en blanco y negro porque no podría ser de otra manera, porque es atemporal como el propio Rastro de Madrid, ese mosaico ecléctico con forma de mercadillo y cuatrocientos años de tradición. Es un relato mudo que cuenta la historia que no sale en los titulares pero que ayuda a construir la Historia con mayúsculas. Es el reflejo de un estado de ánimo y la historia de una mirada.

La actual publicación recoge los textos seleccionados del VIII Encuentro en Castilla-La Mancha, dedicado a fotografía y turismo. Están distribuidos en las siguientes secciones: turismo, documentación fotográfica y fotógrafos.

"Female nude photography implies great freedom. A woman offers a shape which is 'naturally aesthetic' and contains a 'balanced sensuality.' I find myself utterly astonished by the complexity of the feminine universe and beauty of the opposite sex. This series of images is very different from my other photographic work. Working only with natural light approached the sensuality and individuality of the women like an outsider licensed to explore their feminine universe." Combined with 'Masculine Reflections, ' this book is the "feminine" half of a landmark two-volume set.
