Benjamín Prado ha publicado las novelas Raro (1995), Nunca le des la mano a un pistolero zurdo (1996), Dónde crees que vas y quién te crees que eres (1997), Alguien se acerca (1998), No sólo el fuego (1999), La nieve está vacía (2000), Mala Gente que camina (2006) y Operación Gladio (2011), y el libro de relatos Jamás saldré vivo de este mundo (2004). Sus primeros cinco libros de poesía están reunido en el volumen Ecuador (2002, 2005, 2009). Depués ha publicado Iceberg (2002), que en esta segunda edición incluye dos nuevos poemas, y Marea humana (2007). También es autor de los ensayos Siete manerad de decir manzana (2001) y Los nombres de Antígona (2001) y de los tomos autobiográficos A la sombra del ángel (13 años con Alberti) (2002) y Romper una canción (2010) Su obra ha sido traducida en numerosos países, entre ellos Estados Unidos, Alemania, Gran Bretaña, Francia, Italia, Gracia, Dinamarca, Portugal, Croacia y Hungria, y publicados también en Argentina, Cuba, México, Perú y El Salvador.
