Monographic edition dedicated to architect Alejandro Zohn, (Guadalajara, 1930, Vienna immigrated to Mexico 1939-2000) whose major architectural legacy was in public architecture that included: Mercado Libertad, Auditorio Municipal, El Archivo de Jalisco among many others.

The book analyses a selection of 10 houses and 14 buildings constructed in Costa Rica from 2000 to 2005 and that represent the current urban San Jose's growth trends. The domestic architecture reflects a higher purchasing power with an appreciation oh natural surroundings, the office and industrial buildings are aimed some at rescuing the historic downtown area while others were constructed in the suburban area of the city. The author describes and discusses the influence Le Corbusier in Uruguay through a series of trips, the first done by the Swiss-French architect in 1929, and the remaining ones from the three Uruguayan architects who joined the workshop of the notable architect: Carlos Gómez Gavazzo, in 1933, Justino Serralta, in 1948, and Carlos Clémot, in 1949.
