The book analyses a selection of 10 houses and 14 buildings constructed in Costa Rica from 2000 to 2005 and that represent the current urban San Jose's growth trends. The domestic architecture reflects a higher purchasing power with an appreciation oh natural surroundings, the office and industrial buildings are aimed some at rescuing the historic downtown area while others were constructed in the suburban area of the city. Presenta la Catedral de Sevilla, como fruto de un proceso creativo de siglos, centrándose en el Barroco. Construida sobre la mezquita almohade, sufrió numerosas obras desde 1401 hasta el siglo XIX, habiendo conservado testimonio de cuantas reformas sufrió y de los bienes muebles con que se decoró, permitiéndonos seguir con detalle el proceso creativo, gracias además a un valioso archivo que permite conocer pormenorizadamente cómo se avanzó en la edificación y adorno del conjunto.

The author describes and discusses the influence Le Corbusier in Uruguay through a series of trips, the first done by the Swiss-French architect in 1929, and the remaining ones from the three Uruguayan architects who joined the workshop of the notable architect: Carlos Gómez Gavazzo, in 1933, Justino Serralta, in 1948, and Carlos Clémot, in 1949.
