El enfoque de Cañón evita la tendencia a la fragmentación que en estas últimas décadas el campo historiográfico argentino ha desarrollado, que distorsionan y fragmentan nuestra comprensión del pasado reciente. Máxime, teniendo en cuenta que esta problemática todavía presenta situaciones traumáticas que la sociedad argentina no tiene suficientemente elaboradas.
