Al desentrañar el arte de la calumnia, el arte del canalla, Darnton nos muestra una pieza clave en el pensamiento y la acción de la Francia que transitó del Antiguo Régimen al Imperio napoleónico.

Como respuesta al interés por el estudio del siglo XVIII, ofrecemos una antología de textos del Archivo Foral de Bizkaia. Esta selección despliega un atemática diversa, como la relativa a las boticas y los relojes de la villa, los cirujanos o la seguridad de los presos, así como las relaciones de bienes, lo que permitirá el acceso de investigadores y lectores no sólo a la lengua escrita sino también a los usos sociales en el Bilbao dieciochesco.
